π With my dad running a takeaway, pizza and kebabs were always in reach - an absolute dream! My mum didn't like cooking so she made a lot of quick pasta or rice and stew dishes.
π§π»ββοΈ In high school, I began feeling self conscious about how much bigger I was than my classmates. I wanted to do something about it - so I started yoga on my WiiFit, and walking to school.
ππ»ββοΈ In my 20's, I fell in love with the gym. I began lifting weights, running, and trying to wrap my head around how to eat for my fitness goals.
π₯ Over time, I noticed that many people in the Muslim and Arab communities around me wanted to be healthier too. They were eager for fitness and nutrition knowledge but didnβt always know where to start.
ποΈββοΈ I wanted to make a difference. I earned qualifications in Nutrition, Personal Training, Programme Design and Group Exercise. I worked in a gym to gain experience and began building tools to empower my community to live healthier lives.
